Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has emerged as one of the most sought-after players ahead of the summer transfer window, with Barcelona continuing to lead the race for his signature despite interest from fierce rivals Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
According to expert Matteo Moretto, the Argentina international has made Barcelona his preferred destination should he leave the Riyadh Air Metropolitano this summer.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old has reportedly informed Atletico of his desire to seek a new challenge and has declined the club’s latest contract renewal proposal.<\/p>\n

Since arriving from Manchester City in 2024, the Argentine forward has amassed 49 goals and 17 assists in 106 appearances for Los Colchoneros, underlining his importance to the club.<\/p>\n

Barcelona have already made their move for the former Manchester City star. The Catalan giants submitted an offer worth \u20ac100 million, but Atletico immediately rejected the proposal.<\/p>\n

Moretto reports that Atletico could reconsider their stance if an offer between \u20ac120 million and \u20ac125 million arrives, a figure that would surpass the \u20ac120 million Barcelona paid to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico in 2019.<\/p>\n
