Chelsea have confirmed that Joao Pedro has signed a new long-term contract running until 2034, cementing his future at Stamford Bridge following an outstanding first season in west London. The Brazilian forward, who joined from Brighton for around \u00a360 million last summer, has been rewarded with fresh terms after establishing himself as the club’s undisputed talisman.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s a pleasure to play for Chelsea,” Pedro said in the club’s announcement video. “I feel at home, I’m very excited to be here. Last season was great and I think this season we can achieve more in the Premier League and it’s the right time to extend my stay here.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued reflecting on his rapid integration into the squad. “I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. I always dreamed of playing for a big club, and it means a lot to me to give my long-term commitment to this club. Pedro’s numbers from his debut campaign explain that confidence clearly. He became the first Chelsea striker since Diego Costa to score 20 non-penalty goals in a single season, finishing with 23 goals and nine assists across all competitions. Supporters subsequently voted him the club’s Player of the Season.<\/span><\/p>\n

His form has continued seamlessly into pre-season, too. Pedro scored a hat-trick against Western Sydney Wanderers before adding further braces against both AC Milan and Real Sociedad, netting eight goals across five pre-season friendlies alone.
