Zadok Yohanna

Brighton are continuing their search for the next rising star, with the Premier League club emerging as the frontrunner to sign highly rated Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK.

The 19-year-old has attracted widespread attention across Europe after a breakthrough season in Sweden, with several elite clubs monitoring his development.

Despite his limited senior experience, Yohanna’s explosive pace, dribbling ability, and attacking creativity have made him one of the most exciting young talents on the market, setting the stage for a potential big-money transfer this summer.

Brighton Lead Race for Highly Rated Nigerian Talent

Brighton are in early talks to sign Super Eagles winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK.

Yohanna joined AIK from Nigeria’s Ikon Allah Academy last summer at age 18 and quickly attracted interest from European clubs.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Rennes, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund have scouted Yohanna this season.

Yohanna is a left-footed winger who typically plays on the right. He is recognized for his quick dribbling, close control, and creativity in one-on-one situations, often using his speed and agility to beat defenders. Despite being new to senior football, he has performed well in league matches.

Interest in Yohanna increased significantly after an April match against Kalmar FF, which reportedly drew 32 scouts.

Despite limited senior experience, Yohanna has played seven league matches for AIK this season, recording two goals and two assists. His strong performances in both the league and the Swedish Cup have attracted interest from leading European clubs.

AIK Demand Record Fee as European Giants Circle

AIK has confirmed ongoing transfer discussions, with Brighton considered the frontrunner. The Seagulls are interested in Yohanna, as his profile aligns with their strategy of recruiting young players with high potential and resale value.

Reports indicate AIK is seeking a club-record fee of £18–20 million. Brighton is rebuilding following Milner’s retirement and Webster’s free transfer and is also monitoring Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell.

He received his first call-up from Nigeria coach Eric Chelle to the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup and friendlies against Portugal and Poland. However, a minor injury prevented his participation, as AIK opted not to release him during his recovery.
