Enzo

The shortlist taking shape

Real Madrid have not made their move yet. But Enzo Fernández is firmly in the picture. The Chelsea midfielder sits among four names on a shortlist as the Spanish giants weigh their options in the engine room. No decision has been made. No talks between the clubs have started either.

Madrid are watching. Waiting. Still assessing which direction they want to go. The process is deliberate. Careful. This is a position they cannot afford to get wrong, and the hierarchy at the Bernabéu knows it.

Exits clearing the path

Before Madrid move for anyone, the exits must come first. Dani Ceballos will leave this summer. That is confirmed. His time at the club is over, and his departure creates both a roster spot and a financial opening. Additionally, Nico Páz could stay at Como rather than return.

The Argentine youngster impressed on loan in Serie A, and a permanent deal is a live possibility. Together, these two situations are reshaping Madrid’s midfield picture faster than expected. The board is letting the dominoes fall before committing to a signing.

Chelsea’s position and what comes next

For now, Chelsea have no formal contact from Madrid. No club-to-club talks. No opening bid. No concrete approach. Enzo remains a Chelsea player with a long contract, and the London club hold all the cards at this stage. That could change quickly once Madrid finalise their targets.

The 24-year-old World Cup winner would represent a statement signing. Talent, age, pedigree. He ticks every box. But until Madrid clear the logjam in their midfield and settle on a direction, Enzo Fernández waits. So does everyone else.
