Napoli Agree Terms With Zeballos on Wing Move

Napoli have reached an agreement on personal terms with Exequiel Zeballos. The Argentine winger, currently frozen out at Boca Juniors, has agreed to join the Serie A club pending final arrangements. Massimiliano Allegri’s rebuild continues taking shape quickly.

Club-to-club negotiations haven’t started yet, though. Napoli want to complete several outgoing sales first, including Noa Lang, before formalizing any official offer. President Aurelio De Laurentiis has demanded roster reduction before signing new faces.

A Squad Overhaul Shapes the Timeline

Napoli’s numbers explain that caution. Currently, forty seven players occupy their roster, with roughly twenty five marked as available for sale. Jesper Lindstrom features prominently among departures being finalized, alongside Romelu Lukaku’s complicated situation.

Zeballos himself has made his preference clear. Reporter Tato Aguilera confirmed last week that the winger wants Napoli specifically, rejecting alternative interest from clubs across Europe and beyond. His contract expires this December, weakening Boca’s negotiating leverage considerably.

Boca had hoped to retain him, presenting a renewal offer recently. Zeballos declined, though reports suggest his camp could reconsider if no formal European proposal arrives before month’s end. Time, therefore, remains a genuine factor here.

Standing 1.75 meters tall, Zeballos operates primarily as a right winger, comfortable cutting inside or stretching play wide. Across 140 appearances for Boca, he has scored 16 goals and added 16 assists, numbers reflecting genuine attacking quality.

Allegri reportedly views him as rotational depth initially, someone capable of adding unpredictability going forward. Once Napoli’s exits clear space, expect movement toward finalizing this deal properly.
