Chalobah Nears €30m Move to Como

Trevoh Chalobah looks set to swap Chelsea for Serie A. Como have agreed to meet Chelsea’s €30 million valuation for the England international, and personal terms are reportedly already in place. All that’s left now is final internal sign-off from the Blues hierarchy.

The structure works in Como’s favour too. Their package includes a guaranteed €25 million fee, plus €5 million in bonuses considered easily achievable. That effectively guarantees the full €30 million Chelsea demanded from the outset. Chalobah, for his part, is keen. He sees Cesc Fabregas’s project in Lombardy as the chance to reclaim a starting role after fading down Chelsea’s pecking order.

Why Chelsea Are Ready to Sell

Squad depth explains the push to offload him. Xabi Alonso has settled on Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Aaron Anselmino as his core centre-back options, and Maxence Lacroix’s imminent arrival from Crystal Palace only adds further competition. Chalobah, alongside Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile, now finds himself surplus to requirements this summer.

Inter Milan previously showed interest too, briefly setting up a quiet understanding with Como over his signature. That interest cooled once Inter turned attention toward John Stones and Cristian Romero instead, clearing the path for Como to push things forward.

At Como, Chalobah wouldn’t necessarily walk straight into the side. Jacobo Ramon and Marc Oliver Kempf impressed last season, helping the club concede fewer goals than anyone else in Serie A. Still, competition breeds improvement, and Fabregas clearly believes Chalobah’s composure and Premier League pedigree will strengthen his options.

For a 27-year-old academy graduate who’s given Chelsea years of steady service, a fresh challenge under an ambitious manager feels timely. Como get a battle-tested defender, according to a report from Football Italia, while Chelsea continue reshaping their backline. For more transfer news, visit KCPredict.
