Even Newcastle circled during the summer, though that interest cooled once terms proved difficult to align.

For Frattesi personally, a Lazio switch would carry genuine sentimental weight. He spent time in the club’s youth ranks as a boy before eventually moving across the capital to Roma’s academy back in 2014. Returning now, over a decade later, would close a curious circle in his footballing journey.
His agent, Beppe Riso, has consistently acknowledged Frattesi’s desire for regular first-team football, something increasingly hard to find at Inter. Nevertheless, previous loyalty kept him at San Siro through the winter window, largely because Inter refused to negotiate seriously.
That resistance now appears to be softening. With two years still remaining on his contract, according to Yahoo Sports, Inter seem increasingly willing to let their unsettled midfielder pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.
