Morgan

Aston Villa are set on keeping midfielder Morgan Rogers, even as top European clubs like Arsenal show more interest.

Reports say Villa do not plan to sell the 23-year-old in the next transfer window. They see him as a key part of their long-term plans with manager Unai Emery.

After a standout 2025-26 season, Rogers has become one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players, gaining attention in England and across Europe.

Rogers’ Breakout Season Attracts European Attention

Rogers, who can play both as an attacking midfielder and a wide forward, had his best season yet. He played 55 games in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists.

His 26 goal contributions were key to Villa’s strong season. They finished in the Premier League’s top four and rejoined England’s top clubs.

The England international scored three goals and made five assists in the competition. He was named UEFA Europa League Player of the Season after helping Villa win the trophy. He also scored in the final, where Emery’s team beat SC Freiburg 3-0 to claim the title.

Arsenal and Other Premier League Giants Monitor Rogers

Other clubs have noticed his strong performances.

Arsenal have reportedly made Rogers one of their top targets, as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad after another good season.

Reports say early talks have happened with Rogers’ representatives, but no official offer has been made yet.

Arsenal is not the only club watching Rogers. Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City are also said to be closely following his progress.

Villa Hold Strong Position Over Rogers’ Future

Even with all this interest, Villa are in a strong position to negotiate.

Rogers signed a new contract in November 2025 that keeps him at Villa Park until 2031. The deal has no release clause, so Villa have a lot of control over his future.

Villa say Rogers is not for sale, but reports suggest financial rules might make them consider very high offers. Any club interested would probably need to bid between £80m and £100m for Villa to even think about negotiating.

Right now, Villa wants to build their team around Rogers instead of selling him.

Rogers Earns England Recognition

Rogers’ quick progress has also been noticed internationally. His strong play at home earned him a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, another big step in a season that changed his career.
