From Chelsea’s Exit to Paris
Liam Rosenior has a new destination in sight. The 41-year-old is in official talks with Paris FC over a two-year contract to become their next head coach, with an option for a third year still under negotiation.
The discussions reportedly began in mid-June 2026, progressing to direct talks by June 29. Rosenior’s path to Paris runs through a turbulent exit from Chelsea, where he was dismissed on April 22 after the Blues suffered five consecutive Premier League losses.
The move makes sense. Rosenior knows French football. He previously managed Strasbourg before joining Chelsea in January, leaving mid-season. A return to Ligue 1 feels natural. Purposeful, even.
Paris FC considered other options along the way. Walid Regragui held two or three meetings with the club, but Rosenior ultimately emerged as the preferred choice. The Englishman is ready to go. No extended break. Back immediately.
Kombouaré Out, Rosenior In
The change at the top was coming. Antoine Kombouaré holds a contract at Paris FC until 2027, but his push to extend until 2028 became a sticking point the club was unwilling to accept.
Kombouaré arrived at the end of February 2026 and steadied a club deep in a relegation battle, guiding them to an 11th-place finish, 12 points above the playoff spot. Solid work. Still not enough to secure his future.
Paris FC earned promotion to Ligue 1 and now want the right manager to consolidate their top-flight status. Rosenior fits that brief. Experienced. Hungry. Ready for a fresh challenge.
